Starting the Journey to Healing
If you're reading this, chances are you're at a point in your life where you're ready to start making some changes. Maybe you've been dealing with some issues for a while and you're finally ready to do something about it. Or maybe you're just feeling lost and confused, and you're looking for some direction. Whatever your situation may be, know that you're not alone—and more importantly, know that help is available. Healing isn't always easy, but it is always worth it. In this article, I’ve outlined a simple three step process for how you can start your journey to healing.
Taking the First Step
The first step on the road to healing is often the hardest one to take. It can be difficult to admit that we need help, or even to simply acknowledge that something needs to change. But it's important to remember that admitting we need help is a strength, not a weakness. It takes courage to face our challenges, and by doing so we open the door to finding peace. The first step in healing is identifying what needs to be healed. Depending on the situation, you may need to heal more than one area of your life. Once you have identified the areas that need healing, it is important to be patient and kind to yourself throughout the journey. Just as you would not expect a physical wound to heal overnight, give yourself time and grace as you move through the process of inner healing.
We all have the power to heal. The thoughts begin from within and ignite the actions that lead to healing. But we have to allow this to happen by letting our spirit guide our mind to think about correcting and redirecting the body's actions. Indeed, this is our true power.
Trust the healing process and know that every journey starts with a single step.
The Second Step
The next step is to be responsible for coordinating your own healing process. Healing may need to be facilitated in more than one area. Whether It Is spiritual, emotional, physical, or mental healing that we need, it is our responsibility to coordinate the healing process. It is all the same. We possess the strength to do so.
Just like the body naturally begins repairing itself all the time regardless of us thinking about it, all other areas of healing can become autonomous as well. If the body is prepared in the proper manner through nutrition, movement, and rest, it will become a more efficient healing entity. The actual process of healing looks different for everyone but may involve things like journaling, meditation, therapy, body work, or other modalities. It is important to find what helps you to balance and feel at peace. The goal is to start rebuilding your life in a way that supports your well-being.
There has to be a desire to heal which derives from knowing we are damaged in some form. When this is recognized we allow ourselves to focus on balancing the necessary actions to produce those changes. Healing is constant because there is always some fashion of it being manifested, however, the degree shifts due to our preparation and perceptions. We control the severity of our damage based on our feelings about everything being within our control. In essence, to begin and continue any type of healing, identify these damages. Know that we are innate healers and whatever we decide to do...will get done.
The Third Step
Lastly, it is important to remember that we are not alone in this journey. There are people who care about us and want to help us achieve our goal of healing. Do not hesitate to reach out for support when you need it. Again, there is strength in acknowledging when you need help. The journey towards wellness is not always easy, but it is worth it.
Seeking help with your healing process, will assist you in eventually reaching a state of balance and harmony.
